On our first visit to Barra we missed seeing the neighboring town of Melaque. Shortly after arrival in April, we took a local bus to Melaque to do some banking, and, of course, stop in a cafe for lunch.


One of the best treats on the Gold Coast of Mexico is the French Baker who arrives by panga at the Barra de Navidad anchorage and marina.
Alas, time to leave Barra, however, Tenacatita was just a short hop away. Water was warm enough to try snorkeling. Here are a few shots of Roy trying out his new equipment.

Once back in Puerto Vallarta, we flew to Mazatlan to visit the Picard family aboard Kanaloa. We stayed two nights and had a chance to visit Mazatlan's historic "old town."

We were greeted on our return to Puerto Vallarta by this wonderful sight of an iguana roaming the dock, stopping at a neighbor's boat to contemplate "should I board or should I just go swimming?" He opted for the latter.
We took a bus to La Cruz to spend our last night at Philo's. Our friend, Tom, his son, Todd, and Philo (and others) jammed all night. We stayed so long that buses stopped running and we took a cab back to PV.
